To better understand regional consumer behavior, e-comm fashion retailer Dia & Co analyzed denim Google search queries on a state-by-state basis. Their findings indicate that, on average, Americans search for high-waisted jeans more than other rises. Although more fashion-forward states are garnering a decent amount of searches for low-rise styles as Y2K influences remain popular. Light washes are favored in the South, while Americans in Coastal states are partial to dark washes. White and distressed denim remain key players as the most searched alternatives to blue jeans. 2022 is a strong year for exaggerated silhouettes, as baggy, nostalgic styles that have been runway mainstays for a couple of years are gaining traction in the nation’s most populous states.
